Dogs vs. Cats

The hashtag I looked up was #dogsvscats. Its an old question that will never go away, “Are you a dog person, or a cat person?” I turned to Twitter to find out what they thought.

As you know, memes are practically their own language, and David of twitter thought that would be an effective way to get his point across. Dogs win this one.

followed by a few other accounts that agree with Dave,

a quick poll to settle the discussion…

this nice man gave us a little rundown of how cats and dogs act,

this one shows that the people that follow Corey on Twitter are pro-cat, which seems to be against popular opinion.

and then heres an outside perspective

which I think kind of sums it up. It appears that dogs are more loved by the majority of twitter users. II will say that the memes about cats being evil are hilarious though. am with them, go dogs! #dogsvscats

  1. It’s really interesting to see how hashtags can be used to generate such participation in even simple things like Dogs vs. Cats and how passionate and creative people can be in trying to “prove” their point. Btw dogs will forever be better than cats.

  2. I really love all of the tweets you chose to feature in this curated post! You have a really comprehensive collection of different kinds of material; I love that they all center around one hashtag get are all different and engaging in their own way!

  3. I enjoyed reading this post. As a dog lover myself, I appreciate those who value their dog and know how amazing dogs are compared to cats. I also enjoyed that the tweets you picked incorporated rich media, which makes the tweet more interesting and may draw more engagement.

  4. Twitter has such a unique way of making anything relevant and trending — even an evergreen debate topic like dogs vs. cats, which never really seems to be settled (personally, I’m all for dogs). I like that you incorporated mixed media in your tweet samples, like videos and memes, instead of just plain text ones. It shows just how into the argument Twitter users were, and that there are two sides to every hashtag.
