Huh, can you use that in a sentence?

I’m sure we’ve all looked up something on Urban Dictionary because we didn’t know what it meant, right? According to Google, slang terms are a type of language that consists of words and phrases that are very informal, and typically restricted to a particular context or group of people.

Here are a few slang words that you might have heard.

  1. I rarely use Urban Dictionary because I like to make up words as I go. I like how you got a variety of different slang words that some people may use. That one guy in the video spelled “brah” wrong, I honestly thought that was funny. I believe that you should make a part 2 and focus on different slang words from various ethnic groups. I don’t know how that would turn out, but I think that you can make it work.

  2. Gosh, I really wished you had asked me! We have our own dialect in Hawaii and often times I say words or phrases and get weird looks from people because they have no clue what I’m saying. Like the word “choke.” It doesn’t mean to choke someone literally…it means “plenty” in Hawaii. But I liked the video. Very fun, playful, and creative. Good job!

  3. I have to say this video is super helpful to me!!! I have been struggling to understand different slangs for a long time. I kept asking questions to my friends like “What is lit?” or “What does LMAO mean?” I think you can take a series of video introducing different slangs. It would be really helpful to old people or people who are not native speakers.
