With news that the winners had been supposedly leaked, there were mixed feelings. Some were upset that bigwig newspapers the Washington Post and the New York Times were winners yet again.
Nobody could have predicted that the Washington Post AND the New York Times would win Pulitzers #RewardSmallerPapers

I have a love/hate relationship w/ #Pulitzer day. It's so exciting to see great work recognized, but many important stories will fall short.

Others were looking forward to the announcement, and even schooling people on how to even pronounce the award. Is it Pew-lit-zer or Pull-itzer?
Annual Reminder: It's not PEW-lit-zer. #pulitzerprize

The winners are set to be announced today (April 18) at 3 p.m. Most of the news and chatter can be followed along at #PulitzerPrize, #Pulitzer and #Pulitzer100.
