What Do Twitter Users Say About #Guncontrol ?

The gun debate is becoming increasingly fierce after a series of mass shootings (2016 Orlando nightclub shooting, 2017 Las Vegas shooting, etc.). There is also a debate about US firearms regulation on Twitter with the hashtag #guncontrol.

Gun control advocates support gun control legislation. They focus on the security threat that relates to loose gun laws; believe that firearms are the deadliest kind of weapon; and express their worries over families’ and friends’ safety, and via emotional comments on gunshot survivors’ news stories. Regarding the influence of gun control on the society, they assert that strict gun laws will diminish the social hostility and unsafety caused by gun violence. The Second Amendment defenders believe in individual citizens’ rights to to buy, own and carry guns.
