For the past few years the issue of climate change and global warming have been topics of conversation around the country. Many people debating over the severity of the situation and whether or not it was a real concern, something that could directly affect each and every one of them. Twitter and other social media sites have been a platform for activists, non believers and anyone who has an opinion on the matter to speak out. I chose the hashtag #climatechange because I felt that it had a wide enough range and I could find opposing views on the issue. It was much harder to find non believers as one can imagine, the majority of the tweets as well as the top most “retweeted” and “favorite” had to do with the scientific facts that climate change is a huge issue and that global warming is real.
The tweets supporting and addressing the issues of climate change read

Slowing down climate change isn’t about saving the planet. It’s about us, about our vulnerability to a level of climate disruption that human civilization has simple never seen before. (In 2017 we have seen plenty of examples!) #ActOnClimate #ClimateChange pic.twitter.com/p3R7cpw4IP
