It is mid-April, and as an NFL fan, this is one of the most exciting times of the year.  The 2018 NFL Draft is weeks away and I, along with all other football fans, cannot wait to see who our teams pick this season and to see the future stars’ smiles as they walk across the stage to shake hand with Commissioner Roger Goodell.

As fans anticipate the draft, analysts are beginning to predict where some of the top prospects are going to end up:

Trades are always fun in the NFL – trades on Draft Day are just that much more amazing.

Every team in the league has their own “Big Board” of top talent and players.  While many analyst are wrong when it comes to their predictions, many have said the NY Jets will select former Oklahoma star Quarterback Baker Mayfield.  Is this Tweet the Jets sent out a little cryptic who whom they want to select at #3?

And while many teams enjoy yearly draft success, the Cleveland Browns are known for their failures, and the NFL fanbase constantly reminds them of their misfortunes:

With 9 days remaining before the draft, there are hundreds of question marks about talent and where prospects will end up.  I just hope Saquon Barkley has a tremendous NFL career and the Jets draft the QB of their future:

  1. I really like how your post flowed and sounded Buzzed-esque, which I think is a good thing. You engaged the reader and your variety of media was good. I would just make sure you either go all out and make the post about your love for your team, or don’t put it in at all so more people can relate to the post.

  2. Love how the post touched on a wide variety regarding the draft and hit all aspects of the different directions the teams had the possibility of going. This post allowed us to see the different opinions that individuals have, whether a fan or an analyst, and show us that at the end of the day people really don’t know what fully goes through an NFL general managers head when it comes to selections in the draft.

  3. Definitely a good topic to pick as someone trying to go into the sports industry. I thought you did a nice job giving perspective on one of the most unpredictable drafts we have seen in a while. The tweets put out by the Jets were especially interesting.

  4. I loved reading this post after the NFL draft had already taken place because it proved that even analysts can be wrong about where top players are going to go in the draft. I loved how the ‘conflict’ in this piece was where each player would end up because as we all know this multi-million dollar league places the most importance on the ability to franchise a player. Although the Jets were praying for a Mayfield franchise the Browns ultimately scooped him up making him the number 1 draft pick.

  5. loved your commentary on the draft! It’s so interesting to see how different fans prepare and react to news around the time of the draft. Definitely a super interactive post, especially considering how many of the tweets you chose to showcase had other media included in them. I agree with Katelyn and think it could be fun to add more of your own voice and passion about the draft and your team.
