I was pleased to see growth in my amount of Twitter followers from the start of the semester. At the start of the semester I was an infrequent “tweeter” and had 267 followers. After benchmarking my success, I now have 361 followers. I noticed an increase in followers when I engaged in conversations on Twitter and utilized popular hashtags. My Klout score increased from 51.37 to 60.12.
Here is the analytics of my tweets from 1/20 through 4/20.
When looking at my analytics, it came as no surprise to me that my Viral Content Challenge Twitter webcard received the most engagement. I believe this was successful because I ran on the momentum from the Final Four tournament as well as appealing to college age students that could relate to the relationship status.

My next #NHsmc tweet that received the most engagement was congratulating Jess on her internship.
Congrats to @JessicaMDunne for landing her dream internship with @360i this summer! #NHsmc
— Kathryn Robinson (@KRobinsonNews) April 4, 2016
I believe this tweet was successful because the company, 360i has a large presence on Twitter and often responds to tweets from customers or employees. Additionally, Jess has a lot of followers that could have picked up on this tweet as she retweeted it and replied to it.
My next tweet that gained the most traction was in regard to my exclusive interview with Sarah Koenig.
I'll be sitting down for an exclusive interview with Sarah Koenig tomorrow for @NewsHouse. Send me your Q's! #NHsmc https://t.co/nbTr8UQzlz

This tweet was not an assignment but rather me reaching out to the class to ask for questions. One student sent me a question. Also, I quote tweeted Prof. Grygiel’s tweet about the lecture.
My fourth tweet that was successful was my tweet debuting my personal website.
Excited to finally have my website up and running! Head to https://t.co/uqsQtJUrGM to check it out. #NHsmc pic.twitter.com/kcA4Y9TKmQ

For this tweet I included media as well as a link to my website which was effective.
My tweet about Express was very successful. Express is trying to gain a new following with their ExpressU program. I tried to build on this momentum by advertising their event, including a picture and the hashtag #WorkoutWednesday.
#WorkoutWernesday Be sure to check out the #ExpressU #Syracuse event on the #DG lawn for some free swag! #NHsmc pic.twitter.com/8veVpjSs5c

I am surprised that my introduction tweet was successful.
This tweet was before garnering the skills to make a successful tweet. I believe it possibly could have done well as NBCNews follows me on Twitter.
Hi @jmgrygiel ! My name's Kathryn Robinson. As a former @NBCNews intern, I'm a big news junkie! #NHsmc

I am not surprised that my tweet about my internship with NBC gained engagements. I used a Twitter picture collage of rich media, as well as hashtags.

My eighth most successful tweet was reaching out to a Twitter user that is an expert in the field. I reached out to a reporter who is very engaging on Twitter and often responds to tweets.
.@Zohreen Love your changing profile picture! What software did you use to create it? #NHsmc
— Kathryn Robinson (@KRobinsonNews) February 1, 2016
While she didn’t respond automatically, Zohreen did respond and we had a brief Twitter conversation.
My Twitter poll tweet gained a decent amount of engagement. I chose this poll as the information had just been released and gained 11 votes in the poll.
Are you excited about Donald Newhouse as the selection for the #Syracuse Commencement speaker? #NHsmc

My final tweet that gained engagement was my tweet about a cause.
My group created our own hashtag as well as using a popular hashtag for the movement. I also tagged Don McPherson in the tweet and received a follow back from him.
"If we cared as much about this issue as we do about basketball the dialogue would be different" @DonMcPherson #StandStrongSU #ItsOnUs NHsmc

I am most pleased with the amount that I am now tweeting. It is extremely critical for my career and now I am back into the rhythm of frequently tweeting, regardless of whether or not we have an assignment.
