This campaign is a part of a bigger project to make a wonderful Christmas to children at Casa Vhida, which is a non-profit organization that takes care of HIV positive children.
The meme was really to make fun of myself and to grab attention from my followers and friends on social media so they could participate.
One thing I noticed is when you make things personal, people tend to relate to it more. My meme had over 700 views.
On Twitter I might have done something wrong in the ads with the promotion of the tweets but I had people reaching out to me on DM interested in joining the campaign. I also posted the meme on Instagram Stories and as we learned in this class is all about networking and who do you know in order to have something successful.
Even though it doesn’t seem like the campaign was a success, it actually was. I was able to gather sponsors like gas stations, supermarkets and a high school interested in joining and providing these kids with toys, the appropriate milk they need and even a Santa.
If everything goes as planned, on December 23rd we will head to Casa Vhida and make a Christmas brunch with the kids while delivering the presents and donations.
It’s a very merry Christmas after all.
