Another Domestic Abuse Case in the NFL: Are you surprised?

NFL Linebacker Reuben Foster was released by the 49ers after he was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor domestic violence, in which he allegedly verbally and physically abused his girlfriend. Three days after Foster’s arrest  The Washington Redskins signed Foster off of waivers. Needless to say, this was a very controversial signing by the Redskins. This signing set the twitter community on fire as the majority of fans and people were disgusted by the Redskin’s signing of Reuben Foster and couldn’t believe he was still allowed to play in the NFL. However there is a small minority in the twitter community that support the Redskins and believe that Foster doesn’t deserve to lose his job in the NFL yet because in the United States you are innocent until proven guilty. The #ReubenFoster has created a lot of noise on twitter ever since he was signed by the Redskins. It is also important to note that morals of the Washington Redskins have been in question for quite sometime, due to the fact that they won’t change their name, which is already very offensive, so this didn’t help.

The above tweet is showing someone who is very against domestic violence, but believes that there is more to this story and that Foster should get a chance to defend himself before being thrown out of the NFL.

The above tweet is from someone who is clearly against the Redskin’s decision to sign Reuben Foster, as she compares this situation to the recent Ohio State domestic abuse scandal.

The above tweet is from another person who is truly disgusted by the Redskin’s decision to sign Reuben Foster and is even more disgusted by the Redskin’s statement on their reasoning.

The above tweet is also from someone who is clearly against the Redskins decision to sign Foster. He brings up an interesting point about how mind-blowing it is that civil rights advocate Colin Kaepernick remains unemployed, while potential domestic abuser Reuben Foster remains employed.

The above and below tweet are two opposing views on the situation. The bottom tweet is actually replying to the top tweet.  The Top tweet is against the Reuben Foster signing, but also makes very bold statements about our society. The publisher of the bottom tweet strongly disagrees with the top tweet, as The bottom tweet defends the Redskins signing of Foster, as this person thinks that Foster deserves due process for his charges and shouldn’t be kicked out of the NFL until proven guilty.
