The hashtag known as #BernieMadeMeWhite has been used as a way to generate support for Bernie on Twitter and show that he does attract a lot of minority votes instead of just young white males. However, this same hashtag has been used as a joke to state that the diversity of Bernie Sanders’ supporters is nonexistent and that this hashtag represents racism or demeans/erases “people of color”. An example of this can be found by following the link on @MaKettle65 tweet to the story posted on rawstory.com

#HillaryForPrison2016 bashes and insults whites left and harder left to gain some more #BLM votes. #BernieMadeMeWhite is even worse.

Davis–
I swear I didn’t know this was your post when I clicked on it but this title grabbed me. I haven’t heard of this hashtag before but I’m glad you brought it to my attention! You’ve done well to briefly summarize the main points that people are trying to make and provide examples of those points in tweet form. Perhaps next time you could split the tweets into these points? So the tweets aren’t all in a row. I also like the time you took to make sure some of the tweets contained rich content. It certainly made it easier on the eye. Good work!
