Twitter Ads Engagement & Spend:
Campaign Analysis:
- I was extremely surprised with how many views my meme received on Imgur before I even began to promote it. I am confident that my strategic use of hashtags was what helped to receive many of the views. The hashtags I used such as dog, memes, and snapchat are all relatable and things that I knew people would be searching. My use of hashtags definitely worked well.
- Even with the small budget of $5 for Twitter, I was amazed to see how well the promoted tweet did. That specific tweet received 973 impressions (organic and promoted). From that particular tweet alone, I received 76 link clicks. I was definitely pleasantly surprised to see how just $5 can help to receive so much engagement.
- Something that I noticed did not help get much engagement was my Facebook post promoting the imgur meme. I thought that because I have a larger number of Facebook friends, that I would receive a solid amount of link clicks. To my surprise, Facebook really did not help much with engagement or link clicks. My assumption is that many people saw this on their news feed (when scrolling quickly) and thought it was an Ad or some sort of promotion and just kept scrolling. It would be interesting to see if a change in wording would effect how the post did on Facebook.
- I also found relatable hashtags (snapchat, night out, meme, etc) in my tweets to help drive engagement. I definitely saw increased engagement on my tweets that included meaningful and current hashtags that people were searching for. The use of these definitely worked well in promoting my meme.
Final Engagement: 786 views
Even from the beginning, this was one of my favorite memes in the class because of how relatable it was. I think that with the card you did a good job of using simple, yet relatable hashtags. They weren’t too specific to a point that very few people would see the meme, which clearly shows with the amount of impressions you had. Overall, I think you did a very good job!
I love this meme because it is SO relatable and everyone loves dogs!! Even though you didn’t meet your personal goal of 1000+ views, I think getting well above 700 views is incredible. Your tweet card was so funny as well and I think humor always draws in an audience.
