Campaign Analysis

The campaign wasn’t as successful as I’d hoped. I also had to extend the run time of the campaign an extra day- until April 11th- because original tweet containing my web card accidentally got deleted. To have a tweet to embed in this post I tweeted out the same copy as the original one that went out on April 6th. My final engagement number was 2,000 and I received 271 views on Imgur. I was surprised my overall impressions were so low considering my meme did relatively well when we did the dot test in class. Twitter promotions definitely helped and I think my idea to quote retweet myself with new content, as opposed to just tweeting out the same image with different copy, was successful. I feel like I might have been able to generate more virality if I had tagged the image differently on Imgur or had put the Imgur link on Reddit. I think the hardest part of the campaign for me was having to keep up with it, instead of sending out one tweet and waiting for something to explode. After this assignment I definitely appreciate accounts like @tbhjuststop and @TweetLikeAGirl that are constantly putting out relatable content and funny memes that go viral. It’s hard work!
