When I first began this assignment, I certainly had my doubts. My objective was to create a meme to be posted on Imgur and then promoted across Twitter using a Twitter website card. The success of the campaign would be based off the number of views the meme obtained on Imgur, with an ultimate goal of 500 views. Easier said then done.
After our class’s experiment with ‘dot voting,’ I panicked a bit. My original meme had received a whopping 5 dots.
Before I made my $5 investment via Twitter Ads, I conducted my own voting in which I sent my meme to a few trustworthy friends who also happen to have a good sense of humor. Thus, the ‘When your professor asks for the homework you didn’t do’ meme was finalized and published.
My $5 investment proved to be well worth it, as it drastically increased the number of impressions my single tweet received and had a 2.11% link click rate.

As the campaign came to a close, I had managed to accomplish my objective and received a total of 558 views. I owe this success to a paid promoted tweet in addition to the research I conducted prior to the campaign’s launch. By gaining the insights of others, I was able to pick a meme that received the most praise and would likely receive the most views via Imgur and engagement via Twitter .
