To increase my number of Twitter followers, I used several techniques. Some proved to show more success than others. What proved to be the most successful, was changing my Twitter bio. By adding what topics I was interested in and by tagging the Newhouse school I was able to attract followers who shared similar interests as me. For example, I wanted to show my expertise in the area of adventure travel. Once I added that in my bio and started to Retweet from popular accounts and Tweet pictures from my trips both my influence and follower base increased. Another technique that I used to gain more followers was to respond to Tweets from Twitter users who were either verified or one of my top followers. Overall, by connecting and sharing my interests with Twitter users I was able to increase my followers.
