Part 1: Influence
Followers at 1/17: 541
Followers at 4/18: 571
Percent Growth: 6%
Klout at 1/17: 31
Klout at 4/18: 36
Over the course of three months I think that the increase in both my followers and Klout are fairly reasonable. To be perfectly honest I had really stopped being super active on Twitter prior to this class, so I had dropped in followers before the course started. I do think that the frequency with which I started tweeting again was incredibly helpful for both gaining followers and Klout. Even when we didn’t have to post for the course, I found myself posting or retweeting at least 4 times a week. Something I do think that would have helped would have been to utilize hashtags far more; especially when considering the content I was tweeting for class, using a hashtag beside “NHsmc” definitely could have been helpful. In terms of influence, I think I can be way more active in terms of reaching out to people I admire on Twitter and even just going out of my way to follow more people.
Some technique that I plan on using in the future to continue growing my overall presence are to be more engaging, interactive, and thoughtful. When I say I want to be more engaging, I mean that I want to make more of an effort to respond to other people’s posts. I think the more you engage with other profiles, the more likely they will engage with you – as well as their followers. Increasing my interactivity just means that I want to make my posts more exciting for my followers. Whether including emojis and hashtags, or utilizing videos, pictures and moments – there are so many different ways that platforms allow you to be more interactive in your personal posts, I think it makes for a more interesting profile and allows your followers to see more of your personality. Finally, by thoughtful I mean I want to plan my posts a little better. For example, if I know the Oscars are on Sunday, I might schedule a few general posts with the same hashtags to come out during the show, this way I don’t have to worry about being active at the actual time of the awards.
Part 2: Execution

What worked for me in this Tweet was the topic, the media, and the hashtags. The topic is very relatable to the audience that I typically cater to, which is Syracuse University students, alum, and students at other colleges. This course taught me how far a little media goes in a post, and I think that my audience very much enjoys the interactivity of videos, pictures, etc. The tweet received 2 retweets and 12 favorites.

What I think worked best for this tweet was the timeliness, along with the hashtags and the inclusion of other media. The #ICYMI is a very popular one that gets searched a lot, and considering my tweet also included the #Olympics2018 it was going to be fairly popular. The link to other media was informative for people who were interested in the topic, and I think the bit of humor behind my copy for the tweet helped as well. My voice came through on this tweet which is always fun. This tweet received 1 retweet and 14 favorites.

This tweet is definitely one of the earlier ones from the course, where knowing what I know now, I would have definitely done things differently. The impressions are high but the engagement is really slacking. I think what worked was the timeliness of the topic since it was the day after the Superbowl and was about Janet Jackson. Where I made the mistake was not utilizing more hashtags, particularly the hashtag that the story I linked to is talking about. This tweet received 0 retweets and 2 favorites.
Rumor has it the fab five will be performing at Prince Harry's #RoyalWedding! This may outdo Will and Kate… #NHsmc #SpiceUpYourWedding https://t.co/pF2c9EK9yO

What worked for this tweet was definitely the topic, the inclusion of other media, and the hashtags. Again, as previously mentioned, I learned about how strong an attribute hashtags are to tweets, and I would have maybe chosen a few others to include in this one – such as #SpiceGirlsReunion. This tweet received 0 retweets and 2 favorites.

There are a few things I think that worked for this tweet and only a few I would’ve changed. Obviously, the cuteness factor of the subjects of my pictures cannot be avoided. A collage of babies and puppies is kind of a quick way to increase engagement, which is an aspect of Twitter I wanted to utilize. I also think the #MondayMotivation is a huge one that draws in a lot of traffic. Something I would have done differently is reframe the picture of my dog so that her face would be visible without clicking on the actual picture, but I know how to do that for collages in the future. Additionally, I would add some emojis just to spice up the text a little. This tweet received 0 retweets and 12 favorites.

I really enjoyed this tweet because again I think it reaches my target audience fairly well. The GIF was a huge part of this tweet because I don’t think too many people have seen it before. I definitely could have utilized some regional hashtags regarding the weather to increase my impressions/engagement, but I know that now. This tweet received 0 retweets and 8 favorites.

Similar to my other tweets that were successful, I think the fun inclusion of media along with popular hashtags worked well for me. Additionally, this tweet increased my followers on snapchat by at least 4 which was a first for me. This tweet received 0 retweets, 3 favorites, 1 comment, and the video received 83 views.

I really used hashtags to the best of my ability with this tweet, along with a mention of another twitter user. I thought this tweet was a really great culmination of a couple of different skills that we learned throughout the course. This tweet received 0 retweets and 1 favorite.

This was one of my first tweets of the semester, so I was very new to all of the techniques I eventually learned. I think the inclusion of media on this one was a success because the video itself received 123 views, but knowing what I know now I could have done more to spice up this tweet such as including emojis, hashtags, and even mentioning @AmericanHome @HimalyanSaltLamps. This tweet received 0 retweets and 2 favorites.

Again, what worked for this tweet is the inclusion of the very cute media, and I even utilized the framing tool we learned about in class so that my pup would be the center of the photos without clicking on them. Additionally, the #Loveyourpetday was certainly useful in gaining traffic for this tweet. I should have included some cute little emojis and maybe even @DogsofTwitter, but those are all skills and techniques I am aware I should use in the future. Note: the #NHsmc is part of a thread to this tweet because I initially forgot to include it. This tweet received 0 retweets and 7 favorites.
