Because this campaign took place at the very beginning of December, I thought it would be a fun idea to make a meme showcasing the debate people have whether Christmas should be celebrated before or after Thanksgiving.
Objectives:
- get as many engagements on my personal content as possible
- create a community and discussion about the Thanksgiving/Christmas debate
Imgur Post:
Once I posted the meme on Imgur, I created a Twitter webcard to track my campaign.
Twitter Web Card:
Only 46 days until #Christmas, so exciting #NHsmc https://t.co/g8ISDCF4f1

I promoted my webcard on my personal Twitter as well as with promotional posts that did not show up on my timeline.
Campaign Analysis:
With my Imgur views hitting 749 and my Twitter engagements at 35, my final engagement number was 784. This surpassed my goal of 500 engagements on my campaign.
I got more traffic on Imgur than I was expecting, but my Twitter campaign was not as successful as I had hoped. I think one of the biggest issues was how I allotted my money. I set the maximum bid per day at $2, which caused me to run out of money in 3 days. Even though the campaign was set to last a week, my tweets were only promoted for 3 of those days, so I got all of my engagements within a small window of time. If I was to do this again, I would make my daily maximum lower to spread out the money better.
This marketing exercise taught me how essential planning is when trying to run a successful campaign.
