On Friday November 24th, 2017- President Trump set off another firestorm with this tweet:
#TimeMagazine won’t guarantee me I’ll be their #PersonOfTheYear2017 so I’m pulling a Trump: rejecting an offer that wasn’t even made! Same way I redrew the WH invitation to the Warriors after they declined it! Same way I may quit before I get thrown out of office!

Regardless, Trump’s tweet got a ton of people talking. It was really interesting to see who people felt deserved actual TIME title for 2017.
Some twitter users felt strongly about a woman being the #PersonOfTheYear2017:
Dear @TIME,
May I humbly suggest @SenWarren @SenKamalaHarris @CarmenYulinCruz @pwcdanica @RepMaxineWaters @SallyQYates @SenDuckworth and all the amazing women who #PERSIST#PersonOfTheYear2017 @womensmarchβ Laura McLain π¦ (@LauraK9doc) November 25, 2017
Several users thought that Hillary Clinton deserved the title this year:
Wouldn’t it be both awesome & hilarious if #Time named Hillary #PersonOfTheYear2017

One user vouched for Black Democratic Women to earn the title specifically, (looking at you, Maxine Waters).

Others admired Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz for her leadership in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and the organizers of the Women’s March:

Another name that came up a lot in the Twitter feed was Colin Kaepernick, who was recently named Citizen of the Year by GQ:
#PersonOfTheYear2017 should be #Colin Kaepernick

Even celebrities got in on all of the *satirical* fun:
TIME wanted me to be their Person of the Year, but I said no! Wonβt pose with Pennywise the Clown on my lap! Sorry, TIME! Sad!!!
β Stephen King (@StephenKing) November 25, 2017
Needless to say, TIME got the last word on that Trump piece:
The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year. TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6.

So what do you think? Who is your #PersonOfTheYear2017?
