I was scrolling through Twitter this morning and saw this tweet from a Huffington Post reporter:
WaPo was rumored to be a Pulitzer finalist for police shootings series. Apparently, they won https://t.co/IJbGLJTRHx pic.twitter.com/gsRH5Zab6p

With news that the winners had been supposedly leaked, there were mixed feelings. Some were upset that bigwig newspapers the Washington Post and the New York Times were winners yet again.
Nobody could have predicted that the Washington Post AND the New York Times would win Pulitzers #RewardSmallerPapers

Looking forward to tomorrow's #Pulitzer announcements. Hope there will be variety, #diversity and winners who are not the usual suspects.

I have a love/hate relationship w/ #Pulitzer day. It's so exciting to see great work recognized, but many important stories will fall short.

Others were looking forward to the announcement, and even schooling people on how to even pronounce the award. Is it Pew-lit-zer or Pull-itzer?
Annual Reminder: It's not PEW-lit-zer. #pulitzerprize
