“Cheesecake Inner Panic Attack” Meme Campaign Analysis

Background

In order to engage college students who take on Cheesecake Factory and its massive menu, I created a meme that embodies the struggle of choosing between 250 menu items. To accurately depict this conflict, I used the “inner panic attack” meme frame which features The Office character Jim Halpert grabbing his head in angst. Above the meme frame includes the copy ” *looks at cheesecake factory menu:” to communicate the overwhelming trigger event of sifting through the thick menu booklet.

Goal

In creating my “Cheesecake Factory Inner Panic Attack” meme, I set the following goal: create a relatable, creative, and engaging meme that generates over 500 views.

Objectives

To measure the effectiveness of “Cheesecake Factory Inner Panic Attack” I established the following objectives:

  • reach over 500 views on Imgur
  • generate over 5 Twitter likes
  • generate over 5 facebook reactions
  • generate over 5 Instagram story views

At the end of the seven day campaign, “Cheesecake Factory Inner Panic Attack” produced the following results:

  • 721 views on Imgur
  • 5 Twitter likes
  • 1 Twitter retweet
  • reply from Cheesecake Factory official Twitter handle (@Cheesecake)
  • 5 instagram story views

Overall, “Cheesecake Factory Inner Panic Attack” was a sweet success. I accomplished my goal of reaching over 500 views on Imgur through using hashtags such as #food, #funny and #friday to reach a larger audience. While Facebook denied me uploading my meme, I achieved adequate engagement via Twitter. By tagging the restaurant’s twitter handle and using relatable tweet copy like “every time the crew goes to @Cheesecake” I received quality engagement.

Now, who’s craving cheesecake?
