During the latest Democratic presidential primary debate, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders implied that Hillary Clinton’s primary victories in the “Deep South” because those states are generally conservative states. However, opponents have pointed out that the Democratic primary voters in those states — many of which are black — are representative of the Democratic demographic as a whole. Below are Tweets expressing the different viewpoints with #DemDebate.
Really don't like @BernieSanders "Deep South" comment-arguably @HillaryClinton could've said he only won in hyper White states #DemDebate

The ppl who vote in Democratic primaries in the *deep south,* mostly black ppl, are the most consistently progressive voters. #DemDebate

The Deep South is still a conservative area. Bernie Sanders is very liberal, and does not have high name ID compared to Clinton. #DemDebate
