When searching tweets with the hashtag #amazonecho I found many varying opinions on this groundbreaking piece of technology. Much of the recent conversation involved people comparing the Amazon Echo to the new Google Home. While some people are staying loyal to their Echos, others are purchasing the Google Home in order to compare the two smart devices. The positive tweets mostly come from amateur users who are blinded by their excitement over the Amazon Echo, and they do not seem to have support for their opinions.
Here are some positive reactions to Amazon Echo:
#alexa …keeps your husband quiet for hours. Gotta be worth the £150? @amazonecho #AmazonEcho

The negative tweets about the Amazon Echo often pit it against the new Google Home. People also seem to be experiencing some technical difficulties with the Echo, but this may be because it has been around longer than the Home.
Here are some of the negative tweets:
I have the #AmazonEcho dot and so far it's been rather disappointing! Commands don't work and Amazon Music is poor 😩 https://t.co/FPtTIqJe1l

So far I like #GoogleHome. Not as many "skills" as #AmazonEcho but is more context aware. If integrations catch up, it's a contender.

It’s interesting how these products have taken off recently. When I think of them I look to my iPhone and think, “Isn’t Siri enough?” But I do understand the convenience of being able to say, “Alexa,” and poof, she gets the job done. I think it’s cool how one user mentioned she said the word play and Drake came through the speakers. I think it will take time to develop more uses for things like this to out-do voice command on our phones or do more than play a song or Google something. I did a similar blog on Apple’s new air pods, so it’s interesting to compare the positive/negative feedback from my post on tech to yours. Good analysis!
