Around the Grammys, the non profit organization the Truth initiative released a commercial that started a conversation on twitter. The commercial brought the attention to the internet that cigarettes are killing cats, and smoking = no cats = no cat videos. The commercial caused a trending hashtag on twitter #Catmaggedon and here are some tweets of people who either really liked the commercial or really didnt.
The companies tweet promoting their advertisement:
Congrats Big Tobacco you just made enemies with every cat lady in America. We will stop the #CATmageddon.https://t.co/P7DvaJloii

Some didnt agree with all the hype;
Can people please stop freaking out about #catmaggedon ? It's not really about protecting cat videos. Stop being so dumb. Omg

Some skeptics on if the commercial would do what its supposed to:
So I wonder if this whole #catmaggedon thing is going to cause people who hate cats to start smoking….

but overall people agreed the commercial was great and did its job in starting a conversation:
