The second week of April means one thing to every pop-culture obsessed millennial in the USA… Coachella has arrived. The stacked festival filled with the hottest acts equally excites music lovers and 20-something year olds.
As a music enthusiast and Coachella veteran, I chose to track the trending #Coachella hashtag to see what people were saying about the festival.
1) While Coachella might have over 100 artists performing, only one artist on the roster really matters… Beyoncé. Beyoncé was the most talked about festival performer on Twitter.
The reviews are in: The critics are RAVING over Beyoncé's #Coachella set!
Guardian: "Beyoncé is in a league of her own. She is the greatest of a generation"
Billboard: "An artist whose creative prowess will continue to be nearly impossible to match"#Beychella pic.twitter.com/Crxf3rKQ05— Pop Crave (@PopCrave) April 15, 2018

2) Coachella brings celebrities and average people together. Below, a fan snapped a video of Justin Bieber enjoying the festival from the crowd.

3) Overnight sensation ‘The Walmart Kid’ made his very own Coachella debut.
The #WalmartYodelBoy playing #Coachella is literally the coolest thing I've seen in 2018. Way to gooOoOOOoooOO duuUUUde!

4) Among all of the good #Coachella tweets, I found some negative tweets that shine a light on the personal donations of Coachella owner, Philip Anschutz to Pro-Gun and Anti- LGBT organizations.
REMINDER:@Coachella is owned by a man who donates large amounts of cash to anti-LGBTQ+, anti-abortion, and Republican organizations.
Stop giving him ways to finance making the world worse.

DID EVERYONE FORGET THE FOUNDER AND OWNER OF #COACHELLA DONATES TO ANTI LGBT AND ANTI ABORTION ORGANIZATIONS! Like the money u spend on tickets supports taking away people's rights to control their bodies and lives!!!

Other Tweets argue that Anschutz actually gifted $1 million to Elton John’s LGBT organization.
Anschutz gives to #HateGroups too. #Coachella owner #PhilipAnschutz donated $1 million to Elton John’s AIDS Foundation’s LGBT Fund https://t.co/Ovtx1d4Mu6 via @thefader

While there are both positive and negative things being said about the festival and it’s owner on Twitter, one thing is for sure, there is no shortage of Coachella coverage on social media.
