Fans React to Dr. Who Rumors

Following last night’s series 10 premiere of the British sci-fi series “Doctor Who” on BBC, rumors began to circulate about who will replace Peter Capaldi as the Doctor after his last episode in December. Capaldi previously confirmed that this would be his last season with the franchise, leaving fans speculating over whether there’d even be a new Doctor at all. With the show’s writer Steven Moffat heading for new projects at the same time, anything could happen.

Good news for Whovians, though – it’s since been confirmed that the show will live on. Chris Chibnall, the writer behind “Broadchurch,” will take over for Moffat. And Capaldi? Twitter seems to think that his fellow British actor Kris Marshall will step in.

Some fans are pleased…

…but not everyone is on board with the casting.

However next season’s casting goes, sentiment about the upcoming season and the Doctor’s new companion, Bill Potts, is still positive. Fans have an action-packed, full-of-surprises season to enjoy before they start to worry about Kris Marshall.
