On November 14th, 2019, there was yet another school shooting. This time in Los Angeles, at Saugus High School. Authorities identified the perpetrator as Nathaniel Tennosuke Berhow, a 16- year-old junior at the school.
Today's shooting at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita is devastating.
It is unbearable to see children cut down in the places we have built to help them grow.
We must end gun violence here in California and across the country. #GunControlNow #GunControl

The Los Angeles County Sheirff’s Department says the shooting occurred on Berhow’s birthday, as he carried a .45-caliber pistol to school on the day he turned 16. Investigators say he killed two others before shooting himself, and wounded three others in an attack that lasted only 16 seconds.
My heart is BROKEN. Seeing backpacks scattered everywhere, hearing gunshots, crying in my friends arms not knowing if we would go home is DEVASTATING. When will this stop ?#EnoughIsEnough #GunControl HOW MANY MORE LIVES NEED TO BE TAKEN TO PROVE THAT SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE pic.twitter.com/QrzCyv4pTX

The 6 tweets I found all use the hashtag #GunControl, and represent the anger and distress that has been circulating around gun reform in the United States. People are scared, and although there most definitely are opposing view points, the constant theme throughout this hashtag is the immediate urge for change.
Guns dont just decide one day to wake up and shoot you, criminals do.
Criminals are going to be criminals, with or without confiscation of guns.
Worse, you'll have nothing left to defend yourself when criminals come knocking your house.#guncontrol

To literally every parent in the US who sends their kids to school every morning not knowing whether they'll see them alive again or not – I feel for you. And I'm angry for you. No parent, and no child, should ever have to go through this. #SantaClaritaShooting #GunControl pic.twitter.com/SKvUUZpQCz

Anti-Americans calling for a ban on AR’s after the kid in #SantaClarita shot classmates left out that the 16 y/old used a PISTOL which WOULDN’T be covered by the ban

The main point the opposing view is trying to make, is that they believe its not the guns that are causing these countless killings, its the person behind the weapon. The easy availability of guns in the United States is a problem that has not been properly addressed.
