The “OK Boomer” hashtag has been circulating around Twitter, resulting in a clear divide between Millennials, born between 1981 and 1996, and Baby Boomers, born between 1946 and 1965. The hashtag highlights millennials’ perceived feelings of judgment, negative attitudes, and outdated opinions among the baby boomers.
The tweets surrounding the issue have covered a variety of topics, including education, money, and technology.
Do you ever wonder why it is that Boomers think of colleges as liberal and educating yourself as a problem. Or no? Do you want us to be smart or is your only defense slandering Millennials to ignore your own personal downfalls? #OkayBoomer 🤭 Are you #Triggered Did I offend 😦

For the record, #okayboomer has nothing to do with age, and everything to do with mindset!
Baby Boomers were born and grew up during a time when getting an education was cheaper, and you could expect to get a well paying job without a college education.— Something Clever (@GotchaRiled) November 17, 2019
Some Millennials have poked fun at Baby Boomers for the way they use technology.
Saw a man answer his phone and in the process turned on his flashlight. Then blinded everyone around him as he talked on the phone. When he hung up he then tried to use voice command to turn off the flashlight. #okayboomer

last night this customer was telling me that she lost her phone like 3x on vacation & i was like “oh no! that’s the worst feeling. glad you have it now!” & she was like “well it’s a lot easier to lose when it’s not GLUED TO MY HIP” ??? #okayboomer but you don’t even know me

However, one Baby Boomer refused to agree with these remarks by expressing her pride to be a Boomer.
We sure did! And that’s why they are all productive members of society, with successful careers, and not little a-holes expecting something for doing nothing! And before you little kids say it, I will#okayboomer #proudboomer

Another person highlighted Ruby Bridges, a Baby Boomer who was a major American Civil Rights Activist. She is an example of someone in that age group who drove positive change in our country.
My Dearest Millennials,
Although it is easy to do so, we must never forget, this is a #boomer, a way more than #okayboomer.

While I do not believe that either generation will come to a complete agreement on these topics, I hope that respectful and productive conversations can be had, without attacking either group.
