Kentucky went blue

In today’s political climate, it seems like there is more bipartisanship than ever. With the recent election on November 5th, 2019, there have been opposing opinions

from the Democratic and Republican parties. There have been specific controversy around the state of Kentucky which is a predominately Republican state. Matt Bevin, previous governor of Kentucky was disliked by many because of his extremely conservative views. He denied Planned Parenthood an abortion license angering many. It has always been a priority to get people to vote in elections and the Democrats were able to rally enough support behind Democrat Andy Beshear to “flip” the red state to blue.

Kentucky citizen went to Twitter to share their excitement. Many felt misrepresented by Bevin. Bevin was supported by President Trump which made Republicans believe that his reelection would be simple.

But, when the polls closed and the votes were tallied, they were wrong. Bevin encouraged his supporters to go out and vote which ultimately did not help.

However, that did not stop his supporters from sharing how proud they were of the progress he had made in office showing just how partisan one state could be.
