Part 1: Influence

Overall follower growth on TWITTER:

1/17 – 0 followers

4/18 – 47 followers

These numbers mean that I successfully had a 100% growth rate! Luckily, there was only one way to go and that was up.

For increasing my network, I just tried to tweet topics that would appeal to a widespread audience. I wanted to reach as many people as possible through each of my tweets. I don’t think I utilized influencers with a lot of followers as well as I could have to increase my follower base.

Part 2: Execution

These are some of my top performing tweets. Majority of my tweets contain pictures because I know that I’m more interested in information if they have visuals.

This was my in case you missed it tweet – a popular hashtag on twitter. Although I didn’t get the reaction that I thought I would, I still ended up with 3 likes.

People enjoy looking at pretty photos. I definitely could have used more effective hashtags or even asked a question about what other people are doing for spring break.

Creating a poll is a great way to engage people. I got 6 votes and I agree.. salted butter sticks are what you should have in your fridge.

I took the relatable route – trying to relate to other people who were facing the same weather conditions as I am.

Here, I used a gif. This is just a fun and creative way to engage people giving me 801 impressions and 181 media views. Also since I tagged Kylie Jenner, I got more eyeballs.

Picking a topic that affects 80% of the country and a pressing issue that people have controversial views on would force more people to view my tweet. I got 843 impressions and 9 likes.

I got 4 likes on this post.. talking about food is always a plus.

Justin Timberlake is a pretty cool dude, landing me 442 impressions. Sadly, I only received 3 likes while trying to engage with a celebrity.

Turns out basically everyone likes dogs; especially when they are dressed in a damn cute outfit. This got me to 318 impressions and 15 total engagements.

When you meet famous people, you suddenly become popular. I hit 3,002 impressions with 38 likes and 11 retweets. I tagged both participants being that I knew they had a large following and would draw more attention to my tweet.

Overall, I think I did a good job on the execution of all my tweets. Some were definitely better and more effective than others. I think as the semester progressed, I became more well versed in the twitter-sphere and understood how to appeal to my audience. I am obsessed with Twitter. I also utilized Twitter Analytics, which I never knew existed prior to this course.
