#MOAB

The hashtag that I decided to research and utilize was #MOAB, which, if you’ve been following the news recently, stands for Mother of all Bombs. Surprisingly, this “MOAB” has been stirring quite mixed reactions from people, both in the United States and otherwise. As you can see in one of the Tweets linked below, it’s like “killing an ant with a sledgehammer”, and is a perfect example of the USA’s constant need for military interference internationally. At first, it was quite difficult for me to find Tweets that disagreed with the issue, as the majority of the online content was quite racist and ignorant, as you can see in the first two Tweets linked below. People often times forget or ignore the fact that, even though ISIS is “evil”, they are not isolated, and yes, dropping a “Mother of all Bombs” in Afghanistan will eradicate one of the worst terrorist groups in our world today, but will also kill many innocent people, and destroy and demolish their homes. Tweets three to six linked below depict the other perspective, and how mainstream media is focusing on asking the wrong questions. The Tweet that really stuck out to me the most was that of @DailyCaller, and how Afghan’s thought that it was “the end of the world”. I truly cannot imagine such feelings of fear and helplessness, and I think it’s important to bear in mind that innocent people are being caught up and harmed in this predicament for no reason.
