Part 1: Influence
In the beginning of the semester, I created a brand new twitter account (due to complications with my old twitter). Because of this, I started off with the grand total of 0 followers. I was skeptical as to how I was going to gain followers, other than forcing my roommates and friends to follow me. After the long semester, I gained 12 followers resulting in a 100% growth rate.
Although the majority of my followers are my friends, I did receive a few random followers. After receiving the random follows, I analyzed what I had posted that had intrigued them to follow me. I noticed that I had gained a follow after posting content revolving around fitness and health as well as adding hashtags. The person who had followed me is a fitness and health influencer! After receiving that follower, I realized I had gained another. In fact, this person was a follower of the fitness health influencer. This has made me conclude that posting more hashtags truly does open your tweets to a greater audience, helping increase ones follower base. I also noticed that tagging specific people in posts offers a great opportunity to increase your influence. By tagging specific people directly, it enables your content to be seen my a whole other audience (that is if the person responds to the directed tweet).
On the other hand, I realized what I have done that did not work which factors in to the reason why I did not gain a significant following. I had a difficult time getting myself to become an active tweeter. This resulted in me not creating an image for myself on Twitters platform. In addition, I also did not take advantage of all that hashtags can do. By limiting myself only to the #Nhsmc hashtag, I did not expand my tweets audience to the measures it has potential to.
For Klout, I started with a score of 51 ended with a total score of 47 resulting in a 7% growth decline. Since I became a lot less active on my social media accounts towards the end of the semester, my Klout score declined. When looking at each platform, I noticed I had the highest network contribution on Instagram (80%). The reasoning for this significant number is because Instagram is where I have the strongest engagement from both myself as well as my followers. The second highest contribution I have is Facebook (12%). I have many friends on Facebook, however, I am not as active as Instagram resulting in my followers not being able to engage with my content. I also linked my Twitter and Linkedin profiles. After the semester I concluded with a network contribution of 6% Twitter and 2% Linkedin. This low contribution is due to the fact that I am not as active on these platforms and do not have a large following.
Part 2: Execution
In order to execute this post, I looked up content that was trending for this current day. October 3rd is National Mean Girls day, so I thought it was necessary and relevant to retweet content relating to this iconic day. I have learned that retweeting relevant content offers a greater chance of engagement from your followers since as compared to my other posts, I did not receive any engagement if the post was neither relevant or relatable. Also, I have learned that adding more hashtags is a way to enhance ones engagement. Although my #MeanGirl did not help increase my engagement, it still offers a way to expand my contents audience.

Dogs are always a fan favorite. Instead of simply posting the photo of my dog, I decided it was best to tag another person who I know has a similar interest in me. By tagging a specific person, I received some of the most engagement I have got this semester. I also added an image to this tweet to provide a visual for my followers. I believe that simply posting that I am back with my dog would not generate as much engagement.

To execute this tweet, I used Social Rank to determine who my most influential follower was. I have learned that whoever ones most important follow is, they are essential to your engagement and following. By tagging my most influential follower, I received engagement from them as well as some of my own followers. I also added a gif to this tweet. I have learned that adding a gif to your content is a great way to create a voice for yourself. Weather it is comical, sad, inspirational etc, gifs offer a great opportunity to make your tweets more interesting and engaging.

Here is another example of me using a gif in order to engage with my followers. I decided to execute this tweet since I know that many of my followers could relate. I generated this tweet around midterm week and I am aware that many of my followers are college students. This offered my followers a great chance to engage with content that is relatable to their lives.

This post was my most engaged content on Instagram. Most of my posts on my Instagram account are from my friends and people I know. However, after posting this photo, I received multiple likes from random people. I have learned that adding hashtags results in more engagement so for this post I decided to add more hashtags than I usually do. However, instead of adding the hashtags right after my caption, I created a gap in order for my post to look clean and simple yet still include hashtags to increase my audience.

This content was posted in order to help advertise my meme campaign. This tweet was one of my most engaged during the duration of my campaign. To execute this tweet, I decided to use a voice as if I am giving my followers no choice but to agree with my content. I have learned that using a “voice” on twitter helps create an image for your social media content. In this tweet, I also added the direct link to my Imgur page, hoping to increase the number of views for my meme. I also used Tweetdeck to post this tweet. Tweetdeck allows you to generate content in advanced.

In order to execute this tweet, I looked at what was trending for that current day on the “Trends for You” section of my twitter page. Once I found something that I found interesting, I retweeted a tweet and included the hashtag #ICYMI. By including the “in case you missed it” hashtag, my content was able to be seen by a variety of people who engage with the ICYMI hashtag page.

Live streaming is a great way to receive engagement. After my group and I live streamed, I immediately went back to my seat to try to receive engagement from different people. I decided to share a photo of another group live streaming but creating a caption that involved my group. I added the hashtag of our team name to give followers the chance to click on the hashtag to watch our live steam video. Live streaming was a great way to see how quick engagement can grow.

Since this was one of my first tweets created, I decided I wanted to post content about something that is important to me. I am very dedicated to my health and fitness so I thought it was necessary to share content revolving around that topic. I found a fitness generator on Popsugar and tweeted the direct link. I added the hashtag #fitness. After posting this tweet, I received my first follow from a random person. I looked at the follower’s page and I noticed she is a fitness and health blogger/influencer. This helped me learn that posting broad and general hashtags relating to your content is a great way to increase your following.

Here, I created a Twitter List. Twitter lists are a curated list of Twitter accounts that are created by the user. By viewing or creating a list allows one to only view the content posted by those specific people. For this list, I grouped fashion bloggers, a communications agency that worked at, as well as Estee Lauder (some place I could see myself work at one day). While working at Alison Brod MC, I was very involved with social influencers, for example Arielle Charnas and Danielle Bernstein, so I felt it would be beneficial to curate their content into one page.
