Otto’s Army Viral Content Analysis

In my “Otto’s Army Viral Content” Challenge, the objective from my social media marketing plan states my intentions were to market to prospective students, incoming students, and Syracuse students with a deep sense of school pride. During this time, Spring receptions are taking place and Syracuse is currently welcoming our incoming class. It’s an exciting time at the university. There is an upsurge in the amount of advertising the school is doing in order to make Syracuse seem appealing, as well as a plethora of “Orange” activities taking place.

In my social media content, I presented some “Orange” activities by depicting the Orange Central Homecoming photo booth, exemplifying school pride. Showing the school colors bold and bright, it’s bound to catch any Syracuse student’s eye. The main goals were to receive engagement from students at Syracuse as well as Syracuse University offices. As far as engagement, I received interaction from both social networks of Imgur and Twitter. After uploading the photo on Imgur, I shared on Twitter and then proceeded to promote using a Twitter promotion tool.

The fixed time period of which I intended my engagement to take place was Monday, April 4th to Monday, April 11th.  According to Imgur analytics, I received 11 views. I received 4 directly, 4 from Twitter.com, and 1 through imager.com. Through Twitter, the total engagements were 5, breaking down into 3 Link Clicks and 2 Detail Expands. There were 54 impressions in total. On Twitter, I decided not to do a large promotion plan due to the fact that my audience is not very large. Below are the links to both engagement charts.
