Personal Influence Growth & Top 10 Tweets Analysis

PART 1: INFLUENCE

Overall follower growth on Twitter:

  • At the start of the course: 0  (I had a Twitter account but most of the followers are Korean and it is a company account. So, I decided to set up a new one)
  • At the end(04/26) of the course: 38

Analyze your Klout score change

  • At the start(01/27) of the course: 10.00
  • At the end(04/26) of the course: 22.45

My first approach to increase the followers and influence was making base numbers by following influencers who have a mutual following in practice. It did work but soon I started to think that the true beauty of the social network is rather in the interactions not in the robotic following process. The way I found is through the course practices, which will be explained in detail with examples in the following section.

PART 2: EXECUTION

Top 10 Tweets

1.

Total Engagements: 5 / Impressions: 685

The number 1 Tweet shows the power of the rich media and the hashtag. Although it is not clear in the above link, this Tweet included the CNN video clip of Chloe Kim. I used a then hot hashtag of PyeongChang winter Olympic. The combination definitely made synergy and put this one on the top.

2.

Engagements: 1 / Impressions: 277

This Tweet taught me the importance of the Trends. This day was the World Book Day, and I matched the hashtag with a clip from a popular Japanese comic, One Piece. It can be counted as another example of the rich media’s power as well.

3.

Engagement: 3/ Impressions: 215

In this Tweet, I found the power of interaction. Tim Fargo is one of the earliest mutual followers of mine. He is the CEO of Social Jukebox, a social media marketing platform and very enthusiastic about motivational quotes. He has more than 581K followers. When I posted this Tweet to thank for his quotes, I didn’t expect much to get feedback. But he did say back to me in DM and it felt good. I got confidence and found delightfulness of the interaction on the social network.

4.

Engagement: 1/ Impressions: 198

Useful tips seem to get welcomed always.

5.

Engagement: 0 / Impressions: 195

Another example of the combination of the rich media and popular hashtags. This one reminded me to open my eyes wide to look what people talk about right now.

6.

Engagement: 5 / Impressions: 180

I got to admit I uploaded my newborn daughter’s pictures quite often with an intention to draw some interest from audiences. (And of course, because I liked them!) This collage especially drew many engagements compared to other Tweets. Through the Tweets of her, I learned that baby pictures without context was powerless(sorry, honey).

7.

Engagement: 3 / Impressions: 179

I think the routined hashtags such as #followfriday is a good way to open mouth in the social network. I can definitely use this lesson in the future. With much interest in block chain of these days, this Tweet was especially successful among other my #followfriday Tweets.

8.

Engagement: 0 / Impressions: 175

This Tweet was a combination of the Trend(#internationalWomansDay) and the re-use of my popular Tweet(about Chloe Kim). It worked not bad.

9.

Engagement: 3 / Impressions: 174

Another #FollowFriday

10.

Engagement: 21 / Impressions: 170

Although this Tweet ranked at 10 regarding the impressions, I am especially proud of it because of the high score of the engagement. The score is so high compared to others because people interacted with the picture (clicked, expanded and liked it). This Tweet about my real life experience of MNO students final pitch and friends in MNO showed much interest. At this Tweet, I found that the joy of social network world multiply when it is combined with the interaction of physical world. This is one of the most valuable lessons which I learned through this course.
