When entering this class at the beginning of the year, I had a previous professional Twitter account that I used for my previous courses I have taken throughout college. However, I did not realize how influential I could be through this platform. At the beginning of this course, I started with 24 followers and ended with 67 followers. My content that I tweet about is mainly centered around pop culture, entertainment, and fashion. Through this course, I was able to figure out how to reach followers who are interested in the same content as I am. I was able to do this through the use of hashtags. I did not fully understand how powerful hashtags are in social media until I took this course. I realized that with the right use of hashtags and recognizing the trending topics, and mentioning the right twitter users allows you to reach the right audience and increase engagement. I have been added to different entertainment news and expert lists on Twitter lists and have been able emerge myself into the industry and content that I am interested in. I realized that was a big factor on increasing my followers.
My initial Klout score was 10 and ended at a score of 51. By using these different tools and techniques, I was able to increase my Klout score significantly.
