Stanley Cup Playoffs: NYR vs PIT

The Stanley Cup playoffs have officially begun! The New York Rangers face the Pittsburg Penguins during the first round of the playoffs. However, after the New York Rangers defeated the Penguins during Game 2 of the series on April 16th, there were several controversial thoughts about Derick Brassard’s goal. Rangers winger, Brassard, broke in for a go-ahead goal during the second period, which gave the Rangers a 2-1 lead. The Penguins coach challenged the goal on the basis that Brassard was offsides. For a player to be offsides, both skates of the player have to be completely over the leading edge of the blue line involved in the play. After reviewing the play, the goal was upheld. Although the referees have many camera angles to work with, some fans believed Brassard was offsides, while others believed he was on sides.
