In the midst of today’s current climate with COVID-19, social distancing and the hard work going into finding a cure, President Barack Obama announced on social media his endorsement for Joe Biden.
I’m proud to endorse my friend @JoeBiden for President of the United States. Let's go: https://t.co/maHVGRozkX

Obama posted a 12-minute video that was centered around his support for Joe Biden running for President of 2020. Of course, there were overwhelming responses to Obama’s video. A hashtag called #ThanksObama trended on Twitter and people showed gratitude towards the former president.
I love this man and I always will.
I can watch this video on repeat for eternity and I’ll feel better about the world each and everytime I hear it. He gives me immense hope and optimism that we can make this world work for everyone and wipe out corruption and hate.#ThanksObama https://t.co/GzfhY4YZRO— SML (@smlead) April 14, 2020

Not all responses, however, were positive.
#ThanksObama
For:
Deporting more immigrants than any other President
Dropping 27K bombs on the Middle East
Not ending the 2 wars & starting 4 more
Evicting 5 Million from their homes, while bailing out the banks
Cracking the heads of peaceful Occupy & Standing Rock protesters— Hanx Fingers ⏳ (@HanxFingers) April 14, 2020
#ThanksObama for:
Placing illegal immigrants over Americans.
Promoting "abortion as healthcare" to the African-American community.
Placing men in women's sports and spaces.

People were not giving in to Obama’s “warm” and “comforting” presence as many have said online. In fact, anti-Obama users voiced their opposing views using #ThanksObama in a sarcastic tone.
The negative tweets that were against Obama centered around his controversial presidential actions, such as Immigration and Middle Eastern involvement.
With an equal amount of positive and negative tweets under #ThanksObama, what’s your take on Obama’s return in the political light? If Joe Biden is selected as the new president, would we see the Obamas back in the White House?
