The season of giving and getting is a joyous time for many as they celebrate the Holidays with family and friends. As Thanksgiving comes to close and everyone’s bellies are stuffed with mountains of mash potatoes, the mayhem begins. The insanity of Black Friday now starts as early as 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving, due to desperate Americans trying to save money on merchandise. Although the shopping “celebration” offers endless deals for the Christmas season, it’s stirred controversy due to violence and unreasonable demands on staff.
When I searched #BlackFriday, I found that many were excited to take on the holiday, while others were against the day due to the issues that have arose in recent years.
This #blackfriday remember we should LOVE PEOPLE, and USE THINGS, not love things and use people. Stay home and eat leftovers!!

Me too. Why would you subject yourself to the nonsense when you can just stay home & do your shopping online? #BlackFriday

I’d rather stay home in my pajamas & eat leftovers than get trampled to death by crazy people fighting over a $14 toaster oven at 2am. Nope! 🖐🏼🤨 #BlackFriday #HellNo #Shopping #Holidays #CrazyShoppers pic.twitter.com/aOYH8IXkGZ

I also noticed the hashtag #OptOutside was used in order for many to promote spending the day outside rather than shopping the sales.

While many rather stay home safe and warm, or out in nature, there are those who enjoy braving the crowds with the motto of #Treatyoself in mind, and hey that’s fine!
I treated myself well this #blackfriday but i deserve it so it’s all Gucci! Literally!

It’s certainly best to take yourself out of participating if you don’t want to deal with crowds, but to those who do, I say be safe, conscious and happy shopping!
