Top 5 Places at SU!

Welcome to my Top 5 Places at SU! As a student in their final semester of being on campus, I thought it would be a nice tribute to my time here at SU to pin point the 5 places that you absolutely can’t miss.

Number 5 is Crouse College- One of the often overlooked buildings for most students if they aren’t in the College of Visual And Performing Arts, Crouse College, aka as Hogwarts, is home to our Bell Tower that rings out over campus twice a day, as well as one fiercely awesome organ.

Number 4 is The Kissing Bench, filled with so much history and tradition, No visit to SU is complete without a trip to the Kissing Bench.

Number 3 is The entirety of South Campus, home to close to half of campus, at one point or another every SU student has gotten the courage to hop on the Connective Corridor and visit the black hole that is South Campus. Whether you’re traveling over their to party it up on a Friday Night, Pay off a Parking Ticket, or Going to Juice Jam, there are fond memories to be had over on South.

Number 2 is Marshall Street, our beloved refuge when we’re fed up with Dining Hall Food, and our savior for those late night drunk snacks. Most notably Varsity Pizza, but you can’t forget staples like Pita Pita, Chipotle, Sliders, and Calios. Marshall Street was also home of our Syracuse Native Gertis McDowell, a homeless man who was known for his friendly demeanor and engaging conversations with students. Ever Since his passing in January, 2015 Marshall Street has just never been the same and will fondly be remembered in the hearts of students.

Lastly Number 1 is our Carrier Dome, The Literal Home of the Pride of Syracuse, no matter when you enter you can practically hear our the beginning lines of our alma mater ” Where the vale of Onondaga…” ring clear. Over the course of your four years here seeing guest performers, and attending basketball and football games are staples of the typical Syracuse University Experience.

I picked content about Syracuse University very purposefully because of it’s potential to go viral. Some of the pillars of virality include being having content that is  positive, as well as having a community to support it. Knowing the communities that I belong to, and my demographic on social media, I figured that the best way to be successful with this assignment was to reach my fellow students and have a call to action to find out what their top 5 favorite places are, hoping that they will engage with my content that way.

Itemized Production Budget:

$0… I owned all of the materials (Construction paper, Glue stick, Markers) that I used to make my 5×5 sq.
