In September 2013, Governor Chris Christie (R) of New Jersey was involved in a scandal that was tagged with the name #Bridgegate. This scandal, which resulted in the closing of two lanes on the George Washington Bridge, was brought back to light this year during the election, and the Twitter population was active in conversations about it.
Allegedly, Christie is out. Rumor is that Trump didn't like how he threw a soccer mom under the bus regarding #Bridgegate. π¬#SundayMorning

I bet Chris Christie is not only regretting #Bridgegate but also putting Ivanka's father-in-law in prison for all them yrs. Karma is so cute

Tough choice for AG! Rudy would imprison Chris for #Bridgegate. Chris would imprison Rudy for illegal #FBI coordination. #RoguesGallery

Whatever role Chris Christie plays in the Trump Administration, I hope he stays away from the infrastructure plan #Bridgegate

Let's be honest: @ChrisChristie was not tapped to be Trump's running mate not because of #Bridgegate, but because he's a "four" at best.

In the future, Giuliani goes down for #FBILeaks , Christie goes down for #Bridgegate, Trump for #TrumpUniversity, etc. etc. #AMJoy

Many of these posts are political in nature, so it is only to be expected that there will be opposing views. There are clear differences between republican and democratic viewpoints, and then between those that are tweeting from more of an informational vantage. Donald Trump is not taking part in the conversation about #Bridgegate speculations and how they tie to his presidency, but several other tweets tie #Bridgegate back to why Trump didn’t choose Christie as his running mate.
