This is a video I made for my Social Media course at the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. I’m a museum professional at Syracuse University and the number one question I get asked about my life as a museum professional is: What is a Curator? I briefly explain what curators do in this short explainer video.
This video was filmed in The Point of Contact Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in Syracuse, NY. Founded in 1975 by Argentinean artist and scholar, Pedro Cuperman, Point of Contact focuses on the interaction between the verbal and visual arts. The exhibition on view in this video is “Pin the Tail” by Chilean artist Catalina Schliebener.
