Objective: The objective was to get 500+ views. Metrics: Measure through views on Imgur. This is a number that, to me, seemed realistic but not easy to reach. I definitely had to put effort into sharing it with various people in order to get to 500 views.
Background: The image used in my meme is of Chrissy Teigen. Teigen is a model and television personality and is married to singer John Legend. Her photos have been used in numerous viral memes, as she often uses hilarious facial expressions when reacting in front of cameras. Teigen is known for her sense of humor, especially on twitter.
Analysis: Overall, my campaign worked. I reached the number of views that I had originally aimed to meet. I attribute this success to the strong Marketing Plan I created. By following a schedule of when and where to post, I was able to easily track engagement. My marketing plan contained a list of actions, and I made sure to follow through with each of them. These actions included an overview of my marketing and advertising goals, a description of what I was promoting (my meme,) a timeline of when the tasks in my marketing plan would be completed, key performance indicators (keeping track of views,) and finally, a description of my target audience. By creating this well mapped marketing plan, I was able to reach my goal of going viral, or in other words, reaching my 500 + views. One thing I would pay more attention to next time, would be the timing of when I post.
The first time I posted my meme on Imgur, I was unable to reach my view goal. I posted early in the morning, I am assuming when not a lot of people were active on the app. A few days later, I reposted my meme, around dinner time. I immediately saw more engagement and more initial views. I think this timing was key for reaching my goal. I realized this was important once I reanalyzed my marketing plan, and honed in on my target audience. Because this meme is about schoolwork/ test taking, the people who relate to it or find it funny are most likely in school during the day. That is why I believe I saw better results once I posted it during the evening hours.
