It is no question that the Netflix series, “Tiger King” has quite literally caused an uproar (pun intended) during this quarantine period. There are several opinions floating around Twitter surrounding the show and it’s insane timeline of events. From viral memes to articles on The NY Times, the show has earned its fair share of media coverage. A few examples of said memes can be seen below.

On the other hand, there has been a debate surrounding the ethics of the show and the poor treatment of the animals. PETA, the largest animal rights organization in the world, has voiced their opinion of the show and their strong stance against the treatment of the animals.
While you’re watching the new Netflix #TigerKing special, here's an unfriendly reminder that Joe Exotic abused animals. pic.twitter.com/kXPr0vyhAc

PETA helped rescue 39 tigers, 3 bears, 2 baboons, and 2 chimpanzees from #TigerKing subject Joe Exotic’s hellhole roadside zoo. ALL of them now live at reputable sanctuaries and are thriving.
We’re grateful he’s now in jail, where he can’t harm animals. https://t.co/87oTDFI0bE

In line with PETA’s stance, others on Twitter have also voiced their views for being against the series. Notice that memes can be used in the opposite view as well in order to get a point across.
Confused as to how y’all can watch a documentary about animal abuse & exploitation, grooming of minors, rape, manipulating straight men, euthanising tiger cubs, the hiring of a hitman against a woman yet your take away message is to hate Carole Baskin and her rescue… #TigerKing pic.twitter.com/wvERYKBw9a

All in all, it is fair to say that whether you love it or hate it, Tiger King has given us all some entertainment and something to talk about during this quarantine. Stay tuned for more #TigerKing tweets as there are rumored bonus episodes to be aired soon.
