So what’s all this about #SCOTUS?
After several months of debate and hearings, Friday, April 7 marked Neil Gorsuch’s confirmation to sit on the Supreme Court of the United States.
In typical current events fashion, Twitter had a lot to say. And much like Gorsuch’s confirmation itself, there were heated opinions from both sides of the aisle.
@clownshooos@filmystic For those that refused to vote for Hillary, we now have Gorsuch on the SCOTUS. The courts have taken a hard right turn for the next 50 years

It wasn’t limited to commentary on Gorsuch’s conservatism, either. Left-wingers made clear their frustration regarding the snub of Merrick Garland, President Barack Obama’s nominee.

But right-wing Twitter made it clear – they believed the nomination privilege belonged to President Trump, so Gorsuch’s confirmation is fair. Last year, Republicans successfully blocked Garland’s nomination.
I don’t understand why libs are mad.
For months, they told the Senate to #DoYourJob and vote on a SCOTUS nominee.
Today, they did! 😀

But liberals fired back with disapproval of congressional Republicans use of what’s known as the “nuclear option.” The action effectively allowed GOPers to change a Senate rule so they could vote in Gorsuch on a simple majority.
@POTUS Congrats 2 #GOP, who stole @SCOTUS seat frm #Obama & changed 200+yr-old rules bc they’re pissy partisan thieves who couldn’t get their way

Democrats had been planning to block the nomination with a filibuster.
As for Gorsuch, he’ll be sworn in to the highest court in the land on Monday, April 10.
If Obama had appointed Gorsuch to replace Scalia, GOP would still have blocked it. THAT’S how partisan this SCOTUS vacancy was.#StolenSeat
