The question of how Social Media are impacting our relationships doesn’t have a conclusive answer. On one hand if you ask someone like me who has grown up with social media, I have mixed feelings about it. I think we rely on social media too much instead of making actual conversations and having face to face encounters. I also believe that people place too much stock in some forms of social media like Facebook. On the other side it has helped me maintain a lot of relationships I otherwise would not have been able to maintain. The overall connectivity of social media is incredible, and that’s where you see all the positives that has come from social media.
This is so important. Social media impacts relationships negatively. pic.twitter.com/Kegj842lAQ

This article from Social Media Examiner highlights how I feel about how social media is impacting us. It talks about both the positives and negatives like comparing yourself with others. A lot of people obsess over how many followers or friends they have on social media, how many people like your content and so on. It is very superficial at times.
Maybe the good outweighs the bad in this case, again I’m very mixed on how social media has changed the way we interact with our friends and establish relationships. I jumped on the Facebook bandwagon in 7th grade and from there social media has exploded.
The concept of Cyberutopianism is interesting, the double edge sword analogy is accurate as technology influences so much @EthanZ #NHsmc
