Viral Content Challenge Campaign Analysis

In the creation of my marketing plan for the Viral Content Challenge, I had some specific goals. The main goal and objective from my marketing plan was to engage the audience via humor and comedy. The major point of my meme was to make people laugh and feel good about themselves at the same time. Although the tone of the meme may be somewhat sarcastic, the overall message is positive: to feel positive about small fitness achievements. Another objective from my marketing plan was to expand my social media brand. Many of my tweets make references to television, entertainment and popular culture and so I think since my meme makes a reference to a popular movie from early 2000, it is consistent with my social media brand and works to fulfill my other objective.

During the implementation of the marketing plan, I created a Twitter webcard tweet, which can be seen below.

As part of my marketing plan, I also organized a Twitter campaign in which I scheduled tweet promotion for my meme. In creating this campaign, I was later able to analyze the results of engagement and impressions of my meme.

Something that I noticed worked more on my first tweet of my meme is that when people couldn’t necessarily see what the text of the meme was, they may have been more inclined to click on the link to see what it was. I feel as though this may work better in terms of getting users to click on be lead to Imgur. Also, it appears as though after the first tweet of the meme, people were less likely to “like” the tweet the second time around. Overall, my meme received 373 views on Imgur.
