Viral Content Challenge Part 2 – Campaign Analysis

MY OBJECTIVES

  • My objective for the Viral Content Challenge was to maximize Twitter clicks, retweets, and impressions on the my original content created.
  • I promoted my content on Facebook and Instagram as well to increase engagement among my target market.
  • Within the eight-day campaign, I planned to receive over 500 impressions on Imgur through organic and paid promotion.
  • I also planned to receive over 5,000 impressions on Twitter throughout my promotional campaign.

ANALYSIS OF CAMPAIGN

  • My “When Your Resume Falls Short” Campaign was successful for my first Twitter Ad Campaign. Having the $5.00 budget for the campaign was beneficial to the total engagement of my meme.
  • Although most of my budget was used within the first day, by sharing my meme on different social media platforms became a key factor to reaching my goal of 500 views on Imgur. This organic engagement was crucial to reaching a total of 562 views.
  • What did not work for me was the timing of my promoted Twitter Webcard. If I had promoted my content at a different time of day, I believe the Tweet would have gained more traction and engagement on Twitter. My impressions were high, however, I did not receive the retweets, favorites, and clicks I planned for.

FINAL ENGAGEMENT

  • Imgur: 562 views
  • Twitter Impressions: 2,744

  1. Great meme — did any hiring managers see this and mention it? Seems like a cool way to get someone’s attention who you’ve been talking to, tweeting at, etc.

  2. OK so I’m forever a fan of Ben’s season on the Bachelor, and the twins were wicked funny the whole time. This is a super niche meme, because I feel like you have to understand the Bachelor AND be working on job applications, but since I am, I really appreciate it! Good work finding a subgroup and marketing toward it!

  3. Remy, I absolutely loved this meme. It was so relatable and you did a great job connecting it to what us college students are dealing with. Your objective plan was both clear and concise. Your analysis provided detail to what worked in your campaign and what didn’t work.

  4. Lmao yeah I definitely relate to your meme right now. The job hunt can be stressful and resumes are the start of that.

I also had an issue with my Twitter webcard and I feel like it stifled my campaign too. Glad to see you still got above 500 views in spite of it though.
